In game 2, the Chix lost 9-5 to Holland Christian. The Chix struggled defensively, committing a number of costly errors. Offensively, the team was led by Luke Gruppen, who collected a double and triple in his 2 plate appearances. Cole Machiela collected 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Trenton Lynema came into the game in relief for the Chix and shut down the Maroons over the last few innings, not allowing a run to score. The Chix record now stands at 10 wins and 6 losses. The Chix take to the road Thursday as they play at Coopersville.
