The Chix traveled to Hamilton on Wednesday to take on the Hawkeyes in a double header. In Game 1, the Chix got off to a hot offensive start, scoring 4 runs in the first 2 innings to take a 4 – 0 lead. But Hamilton chipped away at the lead and walked off the game in the bottom of the 5th inning, and the Chix lost a tough one 5 to 4. Isaiah Buitenhuis pitched the complete game for the Chix in the loss.
Offensively for the Chix, Cole Machiela had a double and 2 RBI. Brandon Claerbaut singled and reached on a walk, scored a run and had a RBI. Sam Cochran singled, drew 2 walks, and scored a run.
