The Chix freshmen baseball team hosted Byron Center in a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Game one was a true pitchers duel and ended in a 0-0 tie. Aidan Fredricks went the distance for the Chix. Byron Center's leadoff hitter singled to start the game and that was the last hit the Bulldogs would muster. Fredricks struck out 5 and only allowed the one hit. Gavin Brouwer had the Chix hit and also stole a base.
In game two the Chix battled a tough Bulldog team and a long weather delay. Pitching for the Chix were Dylan Kenyon, Conner Schipper, Gavin Brouwer, and Gavin Meyering. All four pitched well. Aidan Fredricks and Gabe Vera collected hits for the Chix. Max Cochran walked and stole a base.
