Zeeland East started off the season with a win over Fruitport, 48-32. Rachel Miller led the Chix with 14 points, 12 of them coming after halftime. Mirra Fenlon chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds.
"Really solid start to our season. We moved the ball well against Fruitport's zone and found the openings consistently. We gave ourselves numerous second-chance opportunities with our offensive rebounding. Really proud of our effort tonight."
