The Chix opened the season with a hard fought 41-29 win in the season opener at Reeths Puffer Tuesday night. The contest was tied 17-17 at halftime, and Reeths Puffer held a 22-17 lead early in the third quarter. A 24-7 run to close the game propelled the Chix to a double-digit victory.
Mirra Fenlon led the Chix with 17 points and 5 rebounds, while Emily Wierenga scored 9 and had 11 rebounds. CC Kuras scored 7, while Lizzie Risdon had 5 assists to go aong with multiple steals.
The Chix are back in action Friday night at 5:30pm as they host Allendale and look to conclude the opening week of the season at 2-0.
