The Chix hosted the Sunrise Invitational today, teeing off at 7:30am.  The four team event was a new format and all the teams agreed that they really enjoyed it.  The first nine holes was a stroke play competition, counting the best four scores of the six players.  The second nine was a 2 person scramble, with each school having three 2 person teams, counting the best 2 out of 3.

Winning the first round was West Ottawa with a score of 202, Zeeland East just four behind with a 206, Zeeland West 237, and Holland 264.  Scoring for the Chix was Ximena Knittel with a medalist round of 48, a PR for her, Ashleigh Pomeroy 50, Taya Schanski 51, and Lucy Ehringer 57.

Winning the second round was Zeeland East with a 77, West Ottawa 81, Zeeland West 92, and Holland 103.  The scramble team of Taya and Ashleigh shot a medalits score of one over par 35.

After the combined scoring of the 2 rounds, the Chix and Panthers were tied at 283.  To break the tie, you compare the 5th players scores in stroke play.  Those two players tied!   So then you go to the 6th player and Zeeland East came out victorious by 3 strokes!
