MONA SHORES HIGH SCHOOL: 2
The girls left it all on the field in a very well played 2-1 loss to the Mona Shores Sailors. The Chix had a 1-0 lead going into halftime due to a great team effort and an outstanding corner kick goal by Kaiya Antrup. Mona Shores came out strong in the second half, but the defensive line of the Chix and GK Hope Steenwyk didn't back down from the challenge. Both teams battled hard and played some physical, high quality soccer. As time went on in the second half, Mona Shores was able to put a goal in the back of the net to tie the game 1-1. With no quit in either team, Mona Shores put a second goal in the back of the net with two minutes remaining on a high quality finish. I'm very proud to coach these girls and of the way they competed from the first to last whistle.
