West Catholic got on the scoreboard first and the Chix kept it close and threatened in the top of the 7th inning but came up short.
Megan Greeene got the start for Zeeland East. She allowed seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Anna Jipping threw two innings in relief, striking out three.
Riley Comden(pictured) led the hitting for the Chix going 2-for-4 at the plate. Kirsten Piatek, Taylor Hinson, and Anna Jipping each added a hit.
