SOUTH CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 5
Despite a 4-run deficit in the fifth inning, Zeeland East almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-4 to South Christian on Thursday in game 2 of DH. Zeeland East managed three runs in the failed comeback. Taylor Hinson and Kirsten Piatek each picked up RBIs.
Megan Greeene took the loss for Zeeland East. She went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out six and walking one.
Zeeland East tallied nine hits on the day. Jordyn DeNeff, Riley Comden, and Kirsten Piatek each managed multiple hits for Zeeland East. Jordyn DeNeff went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Zeeland East in hits.
