The Chix Clinch the Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Unity Christian

Zeeland East snagged a late lead and defeated Unity Christian 6-4 on Tuesday in game one of doubleheader. Katelyn Harmsen (pictured) was the spark that ignited the five run fifth inning for the Chix by singling on a 1-0 count and scoring two runs.

Anna Jipping earned the victory in the pitcher's circle for the Chix. She surrendered four runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Zeeland East tallied seven hits on the day. Katelyn Harmsen and Kirsten Piatek each collected two hits to lead Zeeland East.
