Fourth Inning Plays Key Role In Zeeland East Blow Out Over Holland in Game 2 of DH.

Zeeland East put up ten runs in the fourth on its way to a 16-4 victory over Holland on Tuesday. Sydni Leonard, Miriam Dietsche, Ali Holman, Sydni Gebben, Kaitlin Walcott, and Riley Comden all drove in runs in the frame.

Zeeland East took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Zeeland East , Maddie Chatman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Addy Silguero doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Zeeland East tallied ten runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Leonard, Holman, Walcott, and Comden, walks by Dietsche and Jessica Haasevoort, and an error on a ball put in play by Gebben.

Anna Jipping led the Zeeland East to victory in the pitcher's circle. She allowed six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Leonard threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Zeeland East collected 12 hits on the day. Anna Kaynor, Chatman, Comden, and Leonard each collected two hits to lead Zeeland East .
