Zeeland East Holds On to Win the Zeeland East Invitational. Zeeland East built a seven-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Covenant Christian's charge for an 8-6 victory on Saturday.  Covenant Christian scored four runs in the sixth inning, but Zeeland East still managed to pull out the victory. In the first inning, Zeeland East got their offense started. An error scored one run for Chix.

Zeeland East scored four runs in the second inning. Ali Holman, Riley Comden, and Sydney Faber each had RBIs in the big inning.

Anna Jipping pitched the Chix to victory. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits, striking out 9 and walking zero.

Riemersma took the loss for Covenant Christian. She allowed five hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out four.

The Chix had five hits in the game. Sydni Leonard and Kiersten Palmbos each collected two hits to lead Zeeland East .
