A See-Saw Battle Ends in an extra inning loss for the Chix
A walk-off hit in the bottom of the 8th inning left Zeeland East on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Mona Shores on Tuesday in game one of a conference double header.
The Chix collected 11 hits to Mona Shores 9 in the high-scoring affair.
The battle between these two teams was evenly matched as there were 6 lead changes throughout the game. The Chix really game together as a team as every player was involved and did their part to make things happen.
Katie Carlson was on the rubber for Zeeland East. The bulldog lasted seven and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out nine.
The Chix racked up 11 hits in the game including a 3 run Dinger by Katie Carlson. Madalyn Hickey, and Ella Hathaway each collected multiple hits for the Chix. With Carlson leading the team with three hits in four at bats.
