Victory Over Northview
Maddy Chatman and Riley Gruppen did the opposing team no favors on Friday, picking up four hits over four at bats each and leading the Chix to a 13-1 win over Northview.
The Chix offense started rolling in the first when Ali Holman hit an in the park home run on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
The Chix tallied four runs in the fourth inning thanks to singles by Chatman and Madalyn Hickey and a double by Jaiden Lee.
Katie Carlson was the winning pitcher for Zeeland East. The bulldog lasted five innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out three and walking one.
The Chix totaled 16 hits in the game. Chatman, Riley Gruppen, Hickey, Holman, and Lee each collected multiple hits for Zeeland East Chix Varsity.
