Holman Delivers Five Hits and Victory Over Holland

Ali Holman had a busy day at the plate on Tuesday in game 2 of the conference double header, smacking five hits in the Chix 16-3 victory over Holland. Holman singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the third, tripled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh.

Zeeland East tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Holman, Maddy Chatman, Jaiden Lee, and Madalyn Hickey all drove in runs in the frame.

Riley Gruppen earned the win for the Chix. The hurler went four innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out eight. Hickey and Chatman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

M Fischer took the loss for Holland. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing 21 hits and 16 runs while striking out two.

Zeeland East tallied one home run in the game when Maddy Chatman went for the long ball in the seventh inning.

The Chix collected 21 hits on the day.  Ali Holman went 5-for-5 at the plate, while Katie Carlson, Riley Gruppen, Maddy Chatman, Ella Hathaway, and Jaiden Lee each managed multiple hits for the Chix.

A Russell led Holland with two hits in three at bats.
