Two Zeeland East Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Forest Hills Central
The Chix defeated Forest Hills Central 13-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Riley Gruppen pitched Zeeland East Varsity to victory. Gruppen surrendered zero runs on four hits over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Hickey threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Zeeland East tallied 15 hits on the day. Riley Gruppen, Katie Carlson, Lily Blanton, and Madalyn Hickey each collected multiple hits for Zeeland East. The Chix were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
