Gruppen's Walk-Off Bunt Seals The Deal In Zeeland East Varsity Victory Over Reeths-Puffer
Zeeland East Varsity took Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 10-9 walk-off victory over Reeths-Puffer. With international tie break rule in effect and the game tied at nine with Zeeland East batting in the bottom of the eighth Riley Gruppen laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Ali Holman scored the winning run coming from second base.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Zeeland East collected nine hits and Reeths-Puffer 11 in the high-scoring affair.
Katie Carlson led the Zeeland East to victory in the circle. The hurler went eight innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits and striking out nine.
The Chix socked one home run on the day when Katie Carlson went yard in the third inning.
