Zeeland East Blows Away Reeths-Puffer By Six Runs

Zeeland East sailed to an easy victory over Reeths-Puffer 11-5 on Wednesday

Zeeland East fired up the offense in the first inning. Madison Snyder's wild pitch allowed one run to score for Zeeland East.

Reeths-Puffer evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning when Caitlynn Duffey homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Zeeland East pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Ella Hathaway singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Emme Meyering doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Zeeland East tallied five runs in the seventh inning. Lorelei Buikema, Riley Gruppen, Jaiden Lee, and Ashlyn Mendelsohn each had RBIs in the frame.

Gruppen got the win for Zeeland East. The bulldog lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out ten.

Zeeland East totaled 14 hits in the game. Meyering, Gruppen, and Lee each managed multiple hits for Zeeland East. Meyering went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Zeeland East in hits.
