Zeeland East Wrestling traveled to Kelloggsville today to compete in the Rocket Individual Invitational.  East wrestling ended with four (4) champions on the day and was the Invitational Champion.  Champions for East were Tyler Voravongsa at 113, Gavin Drenten at 120, Gabe Amid at 175, and Atari Kuras at 215.  Also placing for East were Tommy Le (106) and CJ Hoegen (215) in 3rd, Simon Myers (132) and Ben DeLost (138) in 4th, Jonah Heyboer in 5th at 190, and Jason Natte (285), Gavin Maurer (144), and Alex Dewitt (150), and Jacob Mercado (215)  in 6th Place.  

Tyler's trip to his Championship started by pinning the number 2 seed in the quarterfinals then continued by pinning the number 3 seed in the semifinals.  Tyler wrapped up his title by defeating the number 1 seed by major decision 11-1.  

Gavin continued his domination of the local area and expanding his season record to 34-1 by pinning his way through the finals.  Most of Gavin's matches were tech-pins where he was up by 15 points before pinning his opponent.  

Gabe started the day as the number 2 seed with byes into the semifinals.  Gabe pinned the number 3 seed in the finals and then beat the number 1 seed in the finals by decision 4 to 1. 

Atari was the number one seed and proved it by pinning his way through the finals.  

East is back on the mat on Wednesday in Conference action to defend the Bird Belt versus Zeeland West.
