On Wednesday, Feb 26, the Chix played the West Ottawa Panthers in a district semi-final game at the Holland High Dutch Dome.  In a hard fought, closely contested game, the Panthers hit a couple of shots late in the 4th quarter to pull out a 77-73 win over the Chix.

The Chix were led by Senior BJ Walker, who recorded a double-double with 24 points and a season high 15 rebounds.  Walker added 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 15 points, going 3 of 5 from 3-pt range.  Claerbaut added 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.  Sophomore Will Drnek added 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, while Senior Will Ver Steeg added 10 points and 2 rebounds.  Senior Eli Walker added 8 points, knocking down 2 critical 3-pt shots.  Walcott added 4 rebounds and 3 steals in the game.  Senior Jacob Vera rounds out the scoring converting 2 free throws for 2 points.  Senior Quincy Thome didn't score any points, but added 4 boards and 3 assists in the game.

The Chix ended their season with a 14-9 record overall, and a 2nd place record of 9-3 in OK Black conference play.  The team graduated 7 seniors, who contributed greatly to the team's success this year.  Those seniors who played their last game for the Chix are (Alphabetic Order): Quincy Thome, Jacob Vera, Owen & Will Ver Steeg, Mickey Voss, Eli Walcott, and BJ Walker.  Thank you Seniors for your character, leadership and excellent play.

The Chix hosted the Holland Dutch on Senior Night this past Friday, February 21.  Before the game, the Chix honored 7 seniors for their significant contributions to the program.  They are in alphabetical order: Quincy Thome, Jacob Vera, Owen and Will Ver Steeg,  MIckey Voss, Eli Walcott and BJ Walker.  Thank you Seniors!

The game was close for the first three quarters as the Chix led 40-36 going into the 4th quarter.  But in the final period, the Chix outscored the Dutch 25-10 to pull away for a 65-46 win.  

The Chix were led in scoring by Senior BJ Walker, who scored 23 of 31 points in the 2nd half.  Walker recorded a double-double, by adding 10 rebounds on the evening, along with his 3 assists and 3 steals.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 11 points and grabbed 5 boards.  Sophomore Will Drnek added 6 points and 2 rebounds in the win.  Seniors Eli Walcott, Jacob Vera, and Mickey Voss each scored 3 points, while Seniors Owen and Will Ver Steeg and Quincy Thome, along with Junior Isaiah Jones scored 2 points in the win. 

With the win, the Chix finished the regular season with an overall record of 14 wins and 8 losses.  The Chix finished in 2nd place in the OK Black, with a 9-3 record.  The Chix enter district play on Wednesday evening against the West Ottawa Panthers.  Gametime is scheduled for 7 pm at the Holland Dutch Dome.  Please purchase you tickets on the GoFans App if you wish to attend the game.  Come out to cheer on your Chix as they look to make a run in the district playoffs. 

The Chix hosted the Dux of Zeeland West Tuesday evening on Zeeland Hall of Fame night at the Coop.  In front of a large crowd, the Chix prevailed 58-43 over the Dux.  The Chix got off to a quick start as Senior Mickey Voss hit a 3-pt shot on the Chix first possession of the game to fire up the crowd and the Coop.  The Chix used that momentum to score the first 12 points of the game and led 14-3 at the end of the first quarter.  The Chix built on their lead in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Dux 19-11 to lead 33-14 at halftime.  In the second half,  the Dux outscored the Chix 29-25, but it wasn't enough as the Chix won the game.  With the win, the Chix hold onto 2nd place in the OK Black with an 8-3 conference record.  Overall the Chix are 13-8 on the season.

Leading the Chix in scoring was Senior BJ Walker and Junior Caleb Claerbaut, who each scored 13 points on the evening.  Walker added 5 rebounds and 5 assists, while Claerbaut added 3  rebounds and three 3-pt shots.  Mickey Voss scored 10 points , grabbed 4 rebounds and added 2 steals, while Sophomore Will Drnek added 9 points.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.  Rounding out the scoring was Senior Jacob Vera, who scored 3 points, and Senior Eli Walcott and Juniors Isaiah Jones & Landon Mack , who each scored 2 points for the Chix.

The Chix wrap up the regular season and conference play on Friday night, February 21 against the Holland High Dutch.  Friday night is also Senior night.  Come out and support the Chix and their 7 Seniors, as the Seniors  play their last home game for the Chix.  The Seniors will be recognized before their game, so arrive early to thank them for their contributions to the basketball program.

The Chix hosted the Holland Christian Maroons on Tuesday night.  In a close game though out, the Chix came away with a 53-49 win.  The game was tied at 28-28 at halftime and 43-43 after 3 quarters.  With the game tied at 49-49 with 3:30 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Chix got a huge bucket by Senior Quincy Thome to take the lead 51-49 and then 2 big blocked shots by Junior Caleb Claerbaut to help preserve the win in the last minute of the game.

The Chix were led in scoring by Will Drnek, who tallied 12 points and dished out 5 assists.  Senior BJ Walker scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and assisted on 4 buckets.  Claerbaut scored 9 points, grabbed 3 boards and blocked 5 shots. Senior Will VerSteeg added 7 points in the win, while Seniors Mickey Voss and Jacob Vera each added 6 points.  Quincy Thome scored 2 points, and added 4 rebounds and 5 assists in the win.

The Chix are back in action next week Tuesday at 7:30 pm vs the Zeeland West Dux at the Coop.  Come ready to cheer on the Chix as the girls game starts at 6 pm and the boys are to follow at 7:30 pm.

The Chix traveled to Spring Lake to take on the Lakers in an OK Black Conference game on Friday night.  The Chix jumped out to a 16-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 27-19 halftime lead.  The Chix extended their lead to double digits in the 3rd quarter, leading 43 -31 after 3 quarters and the Chix held on to win the game 52-40.  With the win, the Chix improve to 11-8 overall, 6-3 in OK Black Conference games.

The Chix were led by Junior Caleb Claerbaut, who scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.  Sophomore Will Drnek scored 14 points, knocking down a couple of 3-pt shots.  Senior BJ Walker had a double-double for the Chix, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  BJ added 3 assists and 2 blocked shots.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 4 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  Senior Will VerSteeg didn't score, but he dished out 5 assists and grabbed 2 rebounds.  

The Chix are back home on Tuesday, February 11 as they host the Holland Christian Maroons.  Game time is scheduled for 7 pm or 20 minutes after the completion of the JV game. 

The Chix were home Friday night in front of a packed house on Community night at the Coop against the Crusaders of Unity Christian.  The Crusaders started out on a 12-0 run to start the game before the Chix were able to score.  The Crusaders were able to maintain a double-digit lead throughout the game and won 58-39.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior Will VerSteeg, who scored a season high 13 point and grabbed 5 rebounds.  Senior BJ Walker tallied 11 points, grabbed 5 boards, dished out 3 assists and blocked 2 shots.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 4 points and blocked 4 shots for the Chix.  Seniors Eli Walcot and Owen VerSteeg and Junior Will Drnek each scored 2 points.  All 12 players for the Chix saw game action.

The Chix head back on the road as they travel to Hamilton on Tuesday night.  Tip time for the varsity game is scheduled for 7 pm or 20 minutes after the JV game wraps up.

The Chix traveled to Zeeland West Saturday night to play in the basketball version of the Bird Bowl.  In a low scoring, hard fought game, the Chix pulled out a 48-36 win.  In the first half, both teams had a hard time putting the ball in the hoop as the Chix held a slim 15-14 halftime lead.  But in the 3rd quarter, the Chix outscored the Dux 22-9 to take a 14 point lead heading into the 4th quarter, where they were able to maintain a double-digit lead, to hold on for the win.

The Chix were led in scoring by Sophomore Will Drnek, who tallied 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Junior BJ Walker scored 12 points and dished out 5 assists.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 9 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, while Senior Quincy Thome scored 5 points and grabbed 7 boards.  Rounding out the scoring was Seniors Jacob Vera, Will VerSteeg and MIckey Voss, who each scored 3 points in the victory.

With the win, the Chix record improves to 10-6, 5-1 in OK Black Conference play.  The Chix are off until Friday, when they host Unity Christian in a show down for first place the OK Black Conference.  Game-time is scheduled for 7 pm, or 20 minutes after the JV game is complete.

The Chix traveled to Holland to play the Holland High Dutch at the Historic Dutch Dome on Friday night in an OK Black Conference match up.  The game was marked by a series of scoring runs by both teams, with the Chix making the final run to win the game 60-46.

In the first quarter, the Chix started the game on a 6-0 run to take an early lead.  After a Dutch timeout, the Dutch came back with a 17-7 scoring run of their own to finish the first quarter with a 17-13 lead.  In the 2nd quarter, the Dutch extended their lead to 7 points, 22-15 with 3 minutes remaining in the first half.  But the Chix got hot to end the first half, finishing the 2nd quarter om a 10-0 run to lead 25-22 at half.  The Chix continued their strong play in the 3rd quarter, extending their lead to 6 points, 43-37 heading into the final period..  In the 4th quarter, the Dutch scored the first 8 points to regain the lead 45-43.  But the Chix went on the final run of the game, outscoring the Dutch 17-1 to pull out the 60-46 win.

Leading the Chix in scoring was Senior BJ Walker, who tallied a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Sophomore Will Drnek scored 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, added 4 steals and dished out out 3 assists.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut just missed a double-double with 10 points, 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots.  Senior Will VerSteeg scored 5 points and Senior Mickey Voss added 3 points.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 2 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and added 2 steals.

With the win, the Chix improve their overall record to 9-6, and 4-1 in the OK Black Conference play.  The Chix are back in action on Saturday night, January 25 at 6:30 pm at Zeeland West. 

Zeeland East defeats Holland 60-46 in conference game

Zeeland East defeated Holland 60-46 in conference game. Zeeland East opened the game going up 9-0. Holland responded hitting 4 three pointers in the first quarter. East maintained a steady pace with Holland throughout the first half. East was trailing 15-22 with 2 minutes left in the half, East managed to nail a couple 3’s and draw a couple fouls to answer back with an electric 10 point finish to the half. Zeeland East managed to keep Holland's shooters away from 3-point range. Coming into the 4th quarter the game was tight up until Sr. leader, B.J Walker, ended Holland’s night with a driving layup and a foul, along with a 3-pointer from Jr. Caleb Claerbaut going up 4 points with a minute left forcing Holland to foul. “The game was tight all the way around, and the start wasn't what we anticipated, towards the end we began to connect better as one which showed us the outcome we were looking for.” said Walker. East would continue to rack up the points from all the fouls and end the game confidently. “Our guys were able to preserve through some adversity against a really good Holland team, and we were able to end the game with an explosive offensive and defensive 4th quarter.” Coach Jeff Carlson said after their road win.

East advanced to 9-6 for the season and will play Unity Christian January 31st in their second game against the Crusaders this season.

The Chix traveled to play the Rangers of Forest Hills Central on Friday night.  The game started with the Rangers jumping out to a big early lead, leading 20-6 midway through the 1st qtr.  The Chix ended the quarter on a 9-5 run to trail 25-15 at the end of the 1st qtr.  The Chix continued their comeback in the 2nd quarter, tying the game at halftime, 33 -33 on a Quincy Thome buzzer beating 3-pt shot.  The Chix continued their strong play in the 2nd half, taking a 53-50 lead after 3 quarters and pulling away in the 4th quarter to secure the 68-58 win.

Senior BJ Walker scored 34 points and grabbed 7 boards in the win.  Sophomore Will Drnek scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds,  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 10 points and grabbed 4 boards.  Senior Will Vwr Steeg scored 6 points and dished out 5 assists.

The Chix continue their 5 game road trip as they travel to take on Zeeland West next Tuesday at 7:30 pm.  

The Chix boy's basketball team traveled to Holland to play the Holland Christian Maroons Tuesday evening in the historic Holland Civic Center.  The Maroons started out quickly, taking an early 13-5 lead midway through the 1st quarter.  After a Chix timeout, the Chix responded to outscore the Maroons 12-4 to tie the score at 17 after 1 quarter of play.  The 2nd quarter was tightly contested, with the Chix outscoring the Maroons 17-16 in the stanza and Zeeland East led 34-33 at Halftime.  In the 2nd half, the Chix offense caught fire, out-scoring the Holland Christian 21-15 in the 3rd quarter and 18-14 in the 4th quarter to win the game 73-62.

The Chix had 4 players who scored double-digits points in the contest.  They were led by Sophomore Will Drnek, who scored a career-high 24 points.  Drnek added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut, scored a career-high 23 points for the Chix.  Claerbaut stuffed the stats sheet with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 5 blocked shots.  Senior BJ Walker tallied 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, while Senior Quincy Thome added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Eli Walcott, Owen VerSteeg, and Will VerSteeg each scored 2 points for the Chix.

The Chix overall record now stands at 7-6 on the season and 3-1 in the OK Black Conference standings.  The Chix travel to Forest Hills Central on Friday night to take on the Rangers in a non-conference game.  Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.

The Chix hosted the Lakers from Spring Lake Friday night in OK Black Conference play.  The Chix started slowly and trailed 9-7 after the first quarter.  In the 2nd quarter, the offenses for both teams warmed up with the Chix outscoring the Lakers 26-20 in the 2nd quarter and the Chix led 33-29 at half.  In the 2nd half, offense was still the name of the game, as the Chix outscored the Lakers 37-35 and Zeeland held on for a 70-64 victory.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior BJ Walker, who scored 23 points, knocking down 3 of 4 3-pt shots, and grabbed 5 rebounds.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored a season-high 20 pts.  Caleb made six 3-pt shots, grabbed 4 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.  Sophomore Will Drnek scored 16 points, dished out 4 assists and had 3 steals in the victory.  

Chix are now 6-5 on the season and 2-1 in OK Black conference play.  The Chix are now on the road for their next 5 games, starting with a game Saturday, January 11 at 2 pm at Muskegon Mona Shores.

The Chix hosted the Hamilton Hawkeyes at the Coop on Tuesday evening.  The Chix started the game strong and did not let up and won the game 68-44.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior BJ Walker, who scored a season high 34 points, grabbed 7 boards,added 2 steals and had multiple highlight reel dunks for the Chix.  Sophomore Will Drnek scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 5 points, hauled down 6 rebounds, and added 4 steals.  Senior Owen VerSteeg stuffed the stats sheet with 3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals..

With the win, the Chix level their overall record at 5 wins and 5 losses, 1 - 1 in the OK Black.  The Chix are back home on Friday as the host Spring Lake.  

The Chix concluded a busy stretch of basketball with their 4th game in 7 days as they took on the Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian Monday afternoon at Cornerstone University.  The Chix led at halftime 26-24, but the Eagles jumped out to a quick 8 point lead in the 3rd quarter.  The Chix fought to close the gap to 2 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, trailing 45-43.  In the 4th quarter, the Chix tied the score at 50-50 midway through the 4th quarter, but the Eagles went on an 8-3 run to finish the game and the Chix lost 58-53.

Leading the way for the Chix in scoring was Junior Caleb Claerbaut, who scored 17 points, knocking down five 3-pt shots.  Senior BJ Walker stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocked shots for his 3rd double-double of the season.  BJ also scored his 1,000th point in his Chix career!  Congratulations to BJ on this significant accomplishment.  Senior Will VerSteeg scored 8 points on the strength two 3-pt shots while Senior Mickey Voss scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.  Senior Eli Walcott scored 6 points and grabbed 3 boards.

The Chix record stands at 4 wins and 4 losses heading into OK Black Conference play in January.  The Chix will open conference Friday night, January 3 at Unity Christian in Hudsonville. 

The Chix traveled to Cornerstone University Saturday evening as they played Lansing Everett in the Cornerstone Christmas Classic.  The game was close throughout, with the Chix holding onto a 1 point lead late in the 4th quarter with the ball.  But a turnover gave the ball back to Lansing Everett and they knocked down a shot to win the game 49-48.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior BJ Walker, who scored 26 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and had 2 steals.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 6 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and added 3 steals for the Chix.  Mickey Voss and Eli Walcott each added 5 points in the loss.

The Chix are back in action Monday evening at 4:30 pm in Grand Rapids at Cornerstone Universtiy playing the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. 

The Chix hosted the East Grand Rapids Pioneers on Thursday evening in their 2nd of 4 games over a 6 day stretch before the Christmas Holiday..  The game was close throughout, with the Chix leading 33-30 at halftime, 45-44 at the end of the 3rd quarter and game was tied 49-49 with 5 minutes remaining.  But Senior BJ Walker and Sophmore Will Drnek got hot in the 4th quarter, allowing the Chix to pull away and win the game 75-64.

For the game, BJ Walker recorded his 2nd consecutive double-double, scoring 29 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.  Walker was 8-10 from the field and 12-13 from the free throw line for the game.  Drnek scored 16 points, knocking down two crucial 3-pt shots late in the 4th quarter to help secure the win and added 3 assists.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut was in double figures with 12 points for the Chix.  Claerbaut also had 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the game.  Senior Quincy Thome scored 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds & dished out 2 assists.  Senior Eli Walcot scored 5 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and had 2 steals for the Chix.  Rounding out the scoring for Zeeland East were Seniors Mickey Voss and Owen VerSteeg with 2 points each and Senior Will VerSteeg knocked down a free throw for a point.

The Chix are back in action on Saturday afternoon, December 21, as they play Lansing Everett in the Cornerstone Christmas Classic in Grand Rapids at Cornerstone University.  Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.

The Chix hosted the Lansing Waveerly Warriors on Tuesday evening.  In the first half, the Warriors tough trapping defense forced the Chix into multiple turnovers and Waverly led 34-24 at half.  After 3 quarters, the Chix were down 12 points.  But in the 4th quarter, the Chix mounted a comeback, to trim the Waverly lead down to 2 points.  But the Warriors scored 10 straight points and won the game 64-55.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior BJ Walker, who scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.  Sophmore Will Drnek scored a season-high 15 points and added 4 rebounds.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 7 points, while Senior Mickey Voss scored 6 points, on two 3-pt shots.  Senior Will VerSteeg scored 3 points for the Chix.

The Chix wrap up their 3 game home stand on Thursday night as they host East Grand Rapids HIgh School.  Tip off scheduled for 7 pm..

The Chix hosted the Jenison Wildcats on Friday night in the Coop.  The Chix started fast, taking an early 14-4 lead in the first quarter,  The Chix led  27-19 at halftime and pulled away in the fourth quarter to win the game 51-39.

Senior BJ Walker scored 17 points, grabbed 9 boards dished out 4 assists and added 3 steals for the Chix.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 15 points, knocking down three 3-pt shots and grabbed 6 rebounds.  Sophmore Will Drnek scored 9 points, along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists,.  Senior Mickey Voss scored 8 points, knocking down 2 big 4th quarter 3-point shots.  MIckey added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.  Senior Owen VerSteeg had 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Chix are back in action Tuesday night as they host Lansing Waverly.

The Chix traveled to Holland West Ottawa High School on Tuesday night for their first road game of the year.  The Chix held a 13-9 lead after the 1st quarter.  But in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the Chix offense went cold and were outscored 30 - 13 to trail 39-26 heading into the 4th quarter.  In the 4th quarter, the Chix offense picked up, scoring 19 points, but it wasn't enough to over take the Panthers and West Ottawa knocks off the Chix 58-45.

The Chix were led in scoring by Senior BJ Walker, who tallied 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 highlight reel dunks.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 11 points, knocking down three 3-point shots in the game.  Claerbaut added 6 boards and 3 blocked shots.  Sophomore Will Drnek added 7 points & 3 rebounds while Senior Owen VerSteeg scored 4 points and Junior Eli Walcott scored 3 points and dished out 4 assists.  Seniors Will VerSteeg & Quincy Thome, and Junior Isaiah Jones each scored 2 points in the game.

The Chix record is now 2-1 after the loss.  The Chix are back home this Friday night as they play host to the Jenision Wildcats.  Game-time is scheduled for 7 pm or 20 minutes after the Boys JV game is completed.
 

The Zeeland East Chix hosted the Allendale Falcons tonight in Friday night, Varsity night at the Coop.  After watching the varsity Lady Chix open the evening with an exciting victory, the Boys varsity team looked to continue their winning ways.  The Chix started the game strong and took a 15-10 lead after the 1st quarter.  In the 2nd quarter, the Falcons played stingy defense and outscored the Chix 17-11 in the quarter to take 27-26 lead heading into halftime.  In the 2nd half, the Chix were the team playing the tough defense, outscoring the Falcons 13-8 in the 3rd quarter and 14-9 in the 4th quarter to secure a 53-44 win.  With the win, the Chix are 2-0 on the young season.

Leading the way for the Chix was Senior BJ Walker, who scored 21 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.  Walker knocked down 12-15 free throws on the night.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the game.  Sophmore Will Drnek scored 6 points and added 2 assists while Senior Eli Walcott tallied 5 points on the night.  Rounding out the scoring was Owen VerSteeg, who knocked down a 3-point shot for his 3 points, while Quincy Thome and Mickey Voss each added 2 points.

The Chix are back in action next week Tuesday, December 10 as they take to the road for the first time this season to play the Holland West Ottawa Panthers.  Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.  

The Zeeland East Boys Varsity Chix opened the 2024-25 season by hosting the Muskegon Reeths-Puffer Rockets on Tuesday evening in the Coop.  The Chix started slowly, trailing 9-4 after the first 3 minutes of the game.  After a Coach Carlson timeout, the Chix responded with a 18-4 run to end the 1st Quarter and the Chix led 22-13.  The Rockets trimmed into the Chix lead in the 2nd Quarter by 3 points and the Chix held a 33-27 halftime lead.  In the 3rd Qtr, the game would tighten up, as the Rockets tied the game at 39-39 midway through the quarter.  The Chix scored the next 6 points to lead 45-39, but the Rockets tied the game at 45-45 going into the 4th Quarter.  But in the Final quarter, the Chix jumped out to a lead and never looked back, outscoring the Rockets 27-12 in the final stanza, to win the game 72-57.

The Chix were led in scoring by senior BJ Walker.  Walker scored 26 points and added 9 rebounds &  2 assists.  Junior Caleb Claerbaut tallied a double-double, scoring 20 points on 5-6 shooting from 3-point range.  Claerbaut also grabbed 10 rebounds & blocked 4 shots for the Chix.  Sophmore Will Drnek hit double figures scoring with 12 points.  Drnek went 6-6 from the Free throw line & grabbed 3 rebounds.  Senior Will VerSteeg tallied 5 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds, while fellow Senior Mickey Voss scored 4 points, grabbed 3 boards, &  blocked 2 shots.  Rounding out the scoring for the Chix was Senior Eli Walcott, who filled the stats sheet with 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals and Junior Brandon Fritz scored 2 points in his first varsity game.

The Chix are back home again on Friday night as they host the Allendale Falcons.  Tip off is scheduled for 7 pm.
