On Homecoming evening The Zeeland East Chix defeated the Wolves of Wyoming High School by the score of 65-34. The Chix upped their record to 5-2.Leading the Chix offensively were Max Cochran (4-8 passing for 98 yds and 2 TDs), Cebe Hunderman ( 3 passes caught for 98 yds, 1 TD, 1 kickoff return for 62 yds and a TD)and Brady White ( 9 carries for 99 yds and 3 TDs). The Chix of Zeeland East defeated the Red Hawks of Grand Rapids Union at historic Houseman Field by the score of 38-6. The Chix upped their record to 4-2. Special teams and the defense led the Chix tonight. A blocked punt led to a Levi Boersma return for a touchdown. Cebe Hunderman had a long punt return. Jayden Lopez recovered a fumble on another attempted punt. Ian Bannach had 2 pass interceptions and Ryder Reimink chipped in with another.   Despite a great effort, the Zeeland East Chix came up short against the Sailors of Muskegon Mona Shores by the score of 49-30. The Chix are now 3-2 on the season. Offensively the Chix were led by Senior Cebe Hunderman (12 carries for 93 yds 1 TD. 1 pass for 37 yds, and an 86 yd kick off rerturn for a TD) and Soph Brady White ( 11 carries for 86 yds and a TD). On a beautiful football Friday the Zeeland East Chix narrowly defeated the Rockets of Muskegon Reeths Puffer by the score of 17-14. The Chix upped their record to 3-1 on 2021 season.  Offensively, the Chix were led by Soph running back Brady White who carried the ball 15 times for 107 yards and 2 TDs. Senior Paige Westra added both extra points and kicked the decicing Field Goal early in the 4th quarter. The defense came up big late in the 4th quarter to stymie the Rockets. The defence was led by Junior Nick Williams with 13 tackles, Senior Chase Brink with 8 tackles, and Senior Tag Bonnema with 7 tackles. Senior Charlie Drnek and Soph Aidan Couttts each added an interception for the Chix. The Chix will be home next week playing the Muskegon Mona Shores Sailors. The Chix of Zeeland East defeated the Dutch of Holland High 68-44. The Chix offense rolled tonght with 641 yards in total offense with 601 yards coming on a crushing  ground game.
